LED CHIP TYPES

SMD LED

SMD LED technology is a more powerful successor to the obsolete DIP technology. In this case, the diodes are mounted directly to the printed circuit board, which significantly prolongs their service life. Because of the wide radiation angle, this technology is more suitable for floodlighting than for spotlighting. Most often, you will encounter the SMD 3528 and SMD 5050 diodes, where the numeric data indicates the dimensions of the chip, and the direct proportionality usually applies – the larger chip, the higher the luminous intensity.

HIGH POWER LED

Diodes based on the High Power LED technology use higher voltage to achieve even higher luminous intensity than conventional SMD diodes. Using optical lenses, the beam angle can be adjusted so that the lights with these chips can also be used for spotlighting. Even in this case, of course, they have a high service life.

COB LED

Under the name of COB LED, the latest LED lighting technology has been hiding. In this case, the individual LED chips are mounted directly on the printed circuit board, which means both better heat dissipation and the possibility of placing a larger number of diodes on the surface to achieve even higher light output. Other advantages of this technology include even light distribution or a very long service life.
